Overview

Please join us on Thursday, February 16 for the 2023 Southern California Regional Meeting of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE), co-organized by Illumina and the Jacobs School of Engineering at the University of California San Diego. The meeting will include a symposium that brings together NAE Members and other researchers and practitioners from the greater Southern California region for an afternoon of technical talks and networking on the topic of Unlocking Data in Genomics.

When: February 16, 2023

Where: Franklin Antonio Hall, UC San Diego (NAE Members Meeting only) and Atkinson Hall, UC San Diego (Symposium and Reception).

Note: Buildings are located ~3 min walking distance from one another.

AGENDA:

9:30 AM: Check In + Registration - Franklin Antonio Hall, UC San Diego Campus

10:00 AM - 10:30 AM: Tour of Franklin Antonio Hall Collaboratories, led by Albert P. Pisano, Dean, Jacobs School of Engineering.

10:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Regional Meeting (NAE Business Meeting)

12:00 PM - 12:45 PM: Lunch at UC San Diego

12:45 PM: Meeting adjourns. Begin walk across the street to Symposium located at Atkinson Hall, UC San Diego

1:30 PM - 5:15 PM: Symposium, UC San Diego

5:15 PM - 6:00 PM: Networking Reception, UC San Diego

If you are an NAE member, please register here.
Not a member of the NAE? You are warmly encouraged to register and attend the symposium. Non-NAE members please learn more here.
Although there is no registration fee, you must register to attend.

Registration deadline:
Registration must be received by February 2, 2023. However, capacity is limited and registration will be opened to non-members on January 17, 2023. We strongly recommend that members register before that date.

Check In: Please check in on the 1st floor of Franklin Antonio Hall at 9:30 AM. The meeting will begin with a tour of Franklin Antonio Hall, UC San Diego's newest, engineering facility designed for collaborative research, active learning and technology transfer. NAE Regional Business Meeting and lunch will follow.

PARKING:

Parking at UC San Diego: For those driving to UC San Diego Campus, parking arrangements will be made for you. A confirmation email with further details will be shared a few days prior to your arrival.

Out-of-town Guests: La Jolla has many hotels located conveniently near UC San Diego's campus including the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines and Estancia La Jolla.

COVID precautions: We expect attendees to be vaccinated and to feel healthy. Masking is strongly encouraged in indoor areas, but not required.
